The Mouthy Mermaid Asks……Do You Ever Take A Vacation From Life?????

Good Morning Dear Readers,

I love to throw out these questions because I get so many interesting responses!!!!!  Today, my question is Do You Ever Take a Vacation From Life????

I did.  The build up of Mother’s Day weekend was too much for me.  And it was the build up!!!!!  The impending anxiety, how will I feel, what will happen, etc.  Not living in the moment!!!!!!

Last week, I went DARK, No Facebook, I really couldn’t look at all the happy Mother’s Day sayings and family pictures.  I took lots of naps, watched Netflix trash TV, listened to music and of course when Mother’s Day got here I had a great day.

I got lovely messages from Mr’s kids thanking me for everything I do and they were so sweet and nice.  So many of my tribe reached out and OF COURSE MR DID EVERYTHING IN HIS POWER TO MAKE IT A FUN DAY.

He got me a great gift, a Bose speaker for the pool, steak and lobster and chocolate cake and continues to be the sweet, loving man that he is.

Can I please say how lucky and blessed I am in the man department of life.  I found a great guy after many mishaps.  LOL.

So, my vacation from life is over.  Today I am plenty busy with life in general.  All is well here.

The pool construction continues, this should be the last week and of course now we have a leak in the skimmer, Dear God.  Can this please get done???

Now we are going to landscape the yard because of course with fancy new pool the yard looks like brown dirt.  Everyone says this is how Mr shows me his love because he hates the pool and could care less.  I can buy that.

And, I am getting my head around how I am going to write about addiction in my family.  I am still thinking about a domain name because I want to make this a positive, hopeful story.  Maybe Michael’s death will help another family.  That is always my hope.

All is good.  I may try out our new pool today because it’s been cool here and I haven’t had a chance to get in.  So today may be the day.

  2. A vacation from life? I think I have done that at times, but it would have been long before the rise of social media. I am glad your Mr. was on the ball about making that day as good as could be (i.e., did his best to spoil you rotten) Good luck with the pool work. A mermaid needs to get wet.

  3. I was starting to worry about you again. Mothers Day was a hard day for me…but my daughters and my grands helped make it good! I wrote a log post and it really helped me…my writing helps a lot! And you will d a wonderful job of writing about addiction…I know you will…just do it…build it and it will come…too many cliches…sorry…but its the truth. ❤
